Need help from substr and instr function used in etext template

Hello Team,
I need help from substr and instr function used in etext template.
For Ex; NAME (11001-Benefits Services)
in etext template, i used substr(NAME, 7, 100) - its display output as 'Benefits Services' - this is correct.
few of the departments, there is no value before number digits, for ex: NAME (Benefits Services) - s Services - this is not correct.
Expected value: Benefits Services
my question is only displaying the value after '-' its available digits befor or not.
