How to create survivorship rule to select the most recently updated record as master?

Summary:

We have a requirement to select the contact with the most recently updated date as the master. We have created this rule which works when there is only 1 record with the most recently updated record returned but results to an error when there is more than 1 record returned.

Survivorship Rule:

Sample Records: Contacts have different last update dates.

Duplicate Resolution: Records were successfully merged and master record was correctly identified.

But when the records with the latest last update date returns 2 or more records, the duplicate resolution request results to an error.

Note: These records having the same last update dates were updated via import.
