Report Formatting - Dynamic Portrait vs Landscape or Book override

When building a report, is there any way to have it dynamically set portrait vs landscape based on POV or to have a book override the page orientation that is set in the report itself?

The issue we are facing is that we have a report that displays columns based on children of member selected inclusive, so some have no children and display only 1 column, some have 10 children and display 10 columns, etc.
We want the report to fit to one page and so have the report as set to fit to Both and Landscape orientation. When the report runs for many members, it looks as desired and needs to be landscape to fit all of the columns but when run for one member looks awkward as it is fitting to a landscape page and would look better on portrait. Any way to be able to format a report differently in a book to override the report settings or other suggestions to avoid building a portrait and landscape version of the
