how can we add an incremental BOM in sales order

Summary:

We have a business requirement for a ship building client. They have an initial basic BOM of the ship vessel to start with. However, as the manufacturing (work order) of the ship progresses, they want to keep updating the BOM structure and add those components in the sales order created at the beginning of the process.

They call it as an incremental BOM and would want to do it using sales order.

Could you please guide us on how to accommodate this scenario within Order Management.
