Can I restrict user to update only certain fields in customer account/site

I want to restrict access to certain users such that they can only edit certain attributes/fields in Customer account/site (Receivables > Manage Customers) while not being able to edit the rest of the attributes/fields (It should be read only for them). How do I achieve this?
