is any API or backend option to update Invoicing Rule at product level for active subscription

May I know if there is any API or backend update by Oracle to update Invoicing Rule at the product level for active subscriptions as we tried from UI and it works which amends the line (close existing and reopens new line) but we want an option to do thru API/backend by Oracle as UI will be cumbersome
