Terminated employees showing as internal candidates

Summary:

Our Talent Acquisition team noticed a case where a couple terminated employees applied to a requisition and left the company after applying. The recruiter reviewed applications after the employees were terminated, but the employees still show as internal candidates on the requsiition. This caused the recruiter to treat the applicants as internal candidates, meanwhile, they were actually external by this point.

To reproduce the issue:

  1. Recruiter posts requisition
  2. Employee applies to posting
  3. Employee resigns
  4. Recruiter reviews applications and sees Employee from above has applied, shows as internal candidate. However, the candidate is actually external now and should not have the internal candidate icon on their profile.

Howdy, Stranger!
