"Start Time plus 24 hours" Per Diem Time Period

Hi Experts,

I need your expertise in configuring our per diem policy to align with our requirements. The policy stipulates that the total number of days should be calculated based on accumulated hours, with 24 hours equating to 1 day.

For example:

  • Start of Travel: 1/08/2024 at 8:00 AM
  • End of Travel: 2/08/2024 at 6:00 PM

According to the policy, the formula should be:

  • 1st Cycle Day: 24 hours = 1 day
  • 2nd Cycle Day: Greater than 8 hours but less than 24 hours = ½ day

Applying this to the example:

  • 1/08/2024 at 8:00 AM to 2/08/2024 at 8:00 AM: 24 hours = 1 day
  • 2/08/2024 at 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM: 10 hours = ½ day

I am currently using the start time plus 24 hours to determine the time period but am unable to get the correct calculation as per the requirement. Can you advise on how I should configure the policy to achieve an accurate result? We are using a spreadsheet for the calculation. The spreadsheet consist of job level and the corresponding rate.

Howdy, Stranger!
