I am not able to adjust the asset in maintenance management

Hello, the client created an asset in the maintenance management module, without attaching it to an item.
Now we need to adjust the asset, as it appeared that the asset requires an item to create work orders. Manually it is not feasible. But I tried using FBDI and yet it didn't work.
In addition, we can't change the code and number of the asset to: "Deleted" for example because it will appear in all the current and future reports.

and if this is a limitation in Oracle, can we adjust the asset using REST API?
