How can subscription item associated to a hardware which is part of a different sales order

Summary:

We have a requirement where, Customer places a sales order for Hardware(Asset trackable, serialized item) item and it is shipped to customer. After two months customer can request for a subscription for the above hardware.

How can we associate a subscription item to hardware which is part of a separate sales order?

Is it even feasible in fusion? if not what is the work around?
