Approval workflow required for Quick Payments

Our AP team have reported that Quick Payments created through the "Create Payment" screen do not go for approval. We have this set up for Payment Process Requests so the same result was expected with this type of payment.

Can anyone suggest how we can implement approvals for this type of payment? This is a vital requirement in the Payments area.
