Workaround to restrict employees in the Directory

Does anyone found a workaround to restrict the search results in the directory? We don't want users to search for restricted employees and it is now happening in Redwood UI because of enabling the profile option "ORA_PER_ORACLE_SEARCH_WORKERSLOV_ENABLED".
