Hi can someone help me understand what does "Show smart list" filter in workspace does?

Summary: Hi, in Workspace under Opportunity list of saved searches, we've a OOTB saved search "My list of opportunities", when we select it, it automatically enables a filter "Show Smart list" as true.

I want to understand what does this filter do? can someone please help me understand its uses.
