Exception in GL Approval Rules

Summary:

Hello,

I want to define my JV approvals in the following manner.

I have a specific ledger. I want all JVs coming from XYZ ledger to ABC person.
However, incase ABC person adds a JV, it should go to his manager.

While uploading the approval rule spreadsheet, I cannot see any field where I can add exceptions like this.
Currently, when ABC person creates a JV, approval first goes to ABC person only (Because of the first rule) and then goes to his manager.
Let me know what can I do to ensure that the JV goes to His manager only.
