Sales Orders Updated Through REST API not following Order Management Extension

Summary:

As per Oracle Standard functionality, Schedule ship date recalculates from the updated date on sales order whatsoever attribute might be changed. Business wants to restrict the automated change/ recalculation of scheduled ship date.
For this, we created an Order Management extension which is working as expected and restricting the recalculation, when order revisions done through Oracle Fusion front end.
However, when order revisions made through REST API, the revision by-passes the Order Management extension and makes the change on SSD also.
Please advise how to successfully make the revisions through REST API follow the extension.
