GL Posting Date for Expense Reports

Hello,

We found some expense reports that were submitted in Fiscal Year 2024 (7/1/2023 - 6/30/2024), but posted to the General Ledger on 7/1/2023.

Our understanding is that the “process expense report for reimbursement” date is supposed to be the accounting date in the GL. However, in these cases they all have a different “process expense report for reimbursement” date after 7/1/2023, but all posted in the GL to 7/1/2023 instead. The other thing to note is that the "expense report" dates for these expense reports were before 6/30/2023, in the prior Fiscal Year.

Does anyone know what is going on here? We are trying to confirm our understanding of how the "expense report" date, “process expense report for reimbursement” date, and "GL posting" date are determined.
