Overpayment Recovery Process Parameter

Within the Default Group of the Payroll Process Configuration, there is a parameter called "Overpayment Recovery Process. Enabling the Over payment for Recovery Process.Default: Y.". What does this parameter option actually do? I could not find any specific documentation within Help Center outlining this parameter.

I am working within US Cloud Payroll. Does any other clients have experience with this specific parameter?
