How Meter reset will affect Forecast

We have a customer having big equipment as main asset and Maintenance Program Data is for that Equipment. Now, when they change a Key component/Child Asset of that Equipment, They want to reset the main Asset/Equipment Meter and expect that Forecasting logic will consider only (After Reset) meter readings going forward.

Please suggest/advise whether forecasting logic will consider the meter readings after reset?
