Termination and Revoke User Access

Clarification needed for the timeline to revoke user access: During a Termination (Responsive UI), after being prompted to enter the notification and effective dates (Section 1), there's a box to choose for Revoke User Access (Section 2). What we have seen is that once the last day worked date is reached, user access is revoked, even with the option checked of revoke user access after termination. The expectation is that access will continue. However, there is another perspective that revoke user access after termination simply means access will be revoked the last day worked because the termination date is at a future time. Similarly, revoke user access immediately will remove user access right away, even though the date is two weeks for example. Are we on the right track? If someone can clarify, that would be helpful.
