How to run a Close Enrollment batch job for a detected life event?

I'm attempting to run a Worker Job Grade Change life event in 'detected' status for 300 employees using the Close Enrollment Batch Process, however, it isn't picking up anyone. Is it possible to use the Close Enrollment Batch Process for a life event in a 'detected' status? The Worker Job Grade Change life event goes from 'detected' to 'processed and closed'.
