Can we truncate Primary point of contact field to first name in HR Help Desk while triggering email

We have a requirement to trigger an email, and the template goes like this

Hi [$PrimaryContactPartyName$],
Thank you for reaching out. We have assigned the request with subject '[$Title$]' to the appropriate team for handling.
You’ll hear from them soon.

Kind Regards,

Your HR Team

However, the [$PrimaryContactPartyName$] field returns the full name and the client wants to truncate the last name and limit it only to the first name(For ex 'Michael Jordan' to 'Michael'). I couldn't find a field to include the same while configuring email templates. Is there a way we can achieve this?
