How to to rename the “Salary averages” and “Salary totals” drop-down lists in “View reports” task

Hello all
Our client would like to rename the “Salary averages” drop-down list in the “View reports” task area of the compensation plan (see screenshot, the values to rename in yellow). Could you advice please how we can do it?
And if we rename these values is there a risk of impacting other modules?
