OCI: Ubuntu Instance Failed To Boot Due to Secure Boot Enabled

Applies To:

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

Goal:

Ubuntu Instance was stuck during the boot process as it required a username and password during the instance boot process.

Though the OCI console shows the error below because the instance was not booting up as it’s stuck at the secure boot username/password stage.

"The instance is unresponsive. Confirm that the OS and network are configured correctly, and check the infrastructure health metrics to see if there is an ongoing infrastructure issue. If everything is configured correctly and there isn't an ongoing infrastructure issue, contact support to request a reboot."

Solution:

Enter the username and password used during the setup of secure boot to allow the system boot successfully.
