OCI: Boot Fails with Error "error: ../../grub-core/script/lexer.c:352:syntax error."

Symptoms: 

Boot fails for all installed kernels with the following errors 

error: ../../grub-core/script/lexer.c:352:syntax error. 
error: ../../grub-core/script/lexer.c:352:Incorrect command. 
error: ../../grub-core/script/lexer.c:352:syntax error.

Cause: 

The kernel command line had an invalid parameter set, "SIZE>", which breaks the kernel command line and prevents grub from booting the OS  


Solution:  

To resolve the issue, perform the following steps:

  • while in the grub, select one kernel to boot from and press "e" for edit the command line  
  • remove the invalid parameter and press
