Maintenance physical vs. logical hierarchy

Hi there. We would like to know the pros-cons of defining a physical or a logical maintenance hierarchy. I mean, per my understanding, a physical hierarchy is the relationship between items that are ‘physically’ linked, for instance a car an its engine (that could be linked in the part list too), or a building and their doors, while a logical hierarchy is used as a relationship between items that may or not be physically linked and you want to group because of their similar taxonomy or other reason, for instance “every truck of our fleet in country X”.
