How to create a sales order for a configuration model via REST API

Hello,

We have a requirement to create a sales order using a configuration model and choose the options for the model via REST API. Since I can do this via the Sales Order UI, I assume I can do it via REST. Can someone share the API to use and which parameters need to be passed for the configuration model?
