Attribute Based Planning

Here’s the scenario: I have an item, XYZ, which is marked as "Buy" in the item attributes. The requirement is as follows:

  • If there is no on-hand inventory, the planning engine should recommend purchasing the product.( Normal Behavior)
  • If supplies already exist, it should recommend treating the item as "Make."

Currently, there is no item structure or work definition in place, and we are using the transform work order option for manufacturing. Can this behavior be achieved through a sourcing rule?
