OCI: Is it Possible to Perform Oracle Linux Leapp Upgrade to a Specific Minor Version

in Linux 1 comment

Applies To:

OracleCloud Infrastructure - Version N/A and later
Linux x86-64

Question

Is it possible to perform a Leapp upgrade to a specific minor version, i.e. OL7.9 to 8.5 or OL8.10 to OL9.2 ?

Solution

The Leapp utility is used to upgrade the OS only, namely, from the current Oracle Linux 7 release to the current OracleLinux 8  version, or from the current Oracle Linux 8 release to the current Oracle Linux 9 version.

Hence the specific version upgrade via Leapp is not supported.
