Custom Object Reporting

I'm curious about the Custom Objects report.
What is the difference between custom object data and custom object contact data?

I didn't quite understand that statement.
When I extract the two reports, I see that the number of data does not match (30000 custom object data / 25000 contact data).
The custom object data is all CDO records,
What data is the custom object contact data showing?
