Can you expose a custom object along with associated fields on mobile app?

Summary:

We have custom Object called Flags and a field called Flag Categories. I want to know if I can add that custom object to the Around Me filters for the mobile app.  In essence, we want to be able to add the Flags filter so that users can see "flags" in his area. Or do we have to take the fields we want to use as filters and then write a script to push the data to the account object in custom fields where we can create a saved search using the custom fields on account?
