How to Remove Empty Folders from Eloqua Sitemap?

In my Eloqua sitemap, multiple empty folders are appearing, even though the specific page(s) they once contained have not been visited recently and no longer appear in the sitemap. The folders themselves don’t have meaningful content. Would Eloqua retain these folders in the sitemap indefinitely?

The sitemap was refreshed, old page info deleted as well, so I was hoping empty folders would disappear. Is there a way to ensure such folders are removed if their content is no longer visited?

The issue I’m facing is with auto-tagging rules and the 500-folder limit within a single rule. Due to the extensive structure of my website, this limit is often reached, and having empty folders in the sitemap unnecessarily contributes to this issue. Is there a solution to prevent empty folders from being included in the sitemap?
