Beginning balances column showing no balances in the Trial Balance Report

Summary:

When we are running the Trial Balance Report for Primary Ledgers, beginning balances column is showing the activity for the period that we are running the report. But when we are running the same report for Secondary Ledgers, it is not showing the beginning balances of that period in the report. But when I provided the Entity in the parameter, it is showing the values. So, is it mandatory to provide the entity value when running the report for secondary ledgers.
