Why can't I see the check boxes view in my published questionnaire

Summary:

I have created a questionnaire and when the responses are given in the draft and preview version I am offered a tickbox selection, but when the questionnaire is then published and used the tickbox is no longer available and you have to scroll and click one option at a time to get the desired choices
