Question about Duplicate Check and Internal Employees Applying with Private Accounts

I would like to clarify how the system handles the following scenario: an internal employee, who is about to be terminated, applies for a position using their personal (private) account.

In this case, will the system be able to recognize that this person is still an internal employee (even though their status is changing) and prevent the creation of a duplicate profile or any other issues related to the merging process?
