why field event listener is not working on Action bar Update Status field

I have created one custom win loss reason field on Opportunity and created a value map relationship with status category when Status Code gets changed to status category gets changed I have written a field event listener in Opportunity edit pages I am able to see the win los reason drop down field but in Update status action bar I am not able to see the value . kindly help .
