Form notication emails still send despite Eloqua auto-filtering spam form submits.
We have observed that Eloqua performs form spam protection even if you have the form spam protection feature disabled. The result of this is no submission data and any steps that rely on form submission data will not execute, however the "send notification email" continues to function and continues to send to us and report on all the bot form submissions and is not subject to the auto spam protection.
The question is that is this a bug or is this an oversight to the original intent of the auto-spam filtering? We like that Eloqua is automatically blocking obvious spam submits, but we don't like that the notification email still sends even if the form submit is otherwise blocked.
