One Inventory Org linked to Two Maintenance Orgs

Business has two operating power stations (PS1 and PS2) that are physically side-by-side. For contractual and asset maintenance reasons, it is required that the physical assets reside in separate maintenance organizations in Cloud Maintenance, each with their own asset hierarchy, maintenance program etc.
Current system configuration is that each maintenance organization has a its own inventory organization, but in reality the two power stations share an inventory warehouse that adjoins both power stations. This leads to the situation where a technician might have to do an Inter Org inventory transfer to be able to issue material on a work order at the other power station, even though physically the item is sitting on the same shelf.
