Update old previously sent Receivables Transaction Delivery Method from XML to Paper for Credit Memo

I tried to update the delivery method of credit memo transaction using the REST API but i couldn't update it. It this a limitation or is there any recommendation to bulk update the field? Cause I tried it for invoice transaction and the update is working.
