How to consider operation duration when it is short but has to be done early in a work order

Summary:
Define the right duration for an operation that has to be early in the work order

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

Our customer has an plant activity with several work orders needed before manufacturing the finished good.

For the latter, the finished good has like two operations (mostly, label printing and packaging). The label printing operation is quite short but has to be done early enough before the second operation (like a week before).

I need your takes on how to setup the operations duration.

For planning purposes (work order creation from supply planning planned orders), should we consider the operation to be like one week long (thus, having a work order at least that long as well)? Or is there a way to trigger one week before the work order creation from planned order release and keep a relevant duration for the first operation?

Howdy, Stranger!
