Project budget control and approval for Requisitions without implementing Oracle Projects
Summary:
In an ongoing implementation, the new Oracle system will be interfacing data to the existing Peoplesoft system. There are two attributes planned to be added as a part of the COA flexfield. These attributes are project owner and project budget. Since we are not implementing projects in Oracle, these two attributes will be used to keep track of the budget available for every project. When a new requisition is created, the following need to be accomplished.
- Fetch the two attributes from COA flexfield based on the project segment from the charge account of the requisition.
- Check if the requisition amount is less than the available budget stored in the COA flexfield.
