Hide item categories linked to products and services from the user raising a Purchase Requisition

Hi,

We have a requirement that the item categories linked to products and services should only be visible to suppliers and not to the requestor creating the requisition. How can we achieve this requirement using best practices?

Currently, we have implemented a workaround by end-dating the item categories in the purchasing categories catalog that were meant only for suppliers. However, despite being end-dated, they are still visible to suppliers. While this workaround achieves our purpose, it does not seem like a best practice.

Does this approach have any impact? Please assist and advise.
