Manage Substitutes in Maintenance

We propose adding the ability to choose substitute items in Maintenance Work Orders, similar to the existing functionality in the Manufacturing module.

Context: On the current project, Maintenance module is integrated with Oracle Field Service to execute work orders for the assembly and disassembly of assets at points of sale. Independently of current integration with OFS, a critical business requirement is the ability to plan materials required for maintenance work orders while considering substitute items. The system should analyze available substitutes and suggest them when the originally planned materials are unavailable.
