Is it possible to add conditions in etext template like when there is no data

We have a requirement not to show ("") double quotes in text output when there is no data returned from the output

Can we add conditions in etext layout if no data then it is possible to skip double quotes

we are enclosing XML column tags in double quotes when there is no data then we are getting file with " " .
