Fix amount in words for checks printing in Spanish

edited Feb 17, 2025 6:45PM in Payables, Payments & Cash Management 1 comment

Hi,

We found that the amount in words generated by Payments is wrong in checks when the language is Spanish and banks don't accept them unless the checks layouts are customized in regular RTF templates which is not good. This is an issue for all Spanish speaking clients.

We have a customer in Central America that needs to print directly to dot matrix printers and, as they're not compatible with PDF, Postcript or PCL, regular RTF templates can't be used to fix the issue.

When the check is printed, the amount in words for an amount =123456.68 is shown as:
Ciento Veintitrés Mil Cuatrocientos Cincuenta Y Seis Y Setenta Y Ocho ***

Howdy, Stranger!
