FIFO reservation on Sales Order
Summary:
In case of short shipment of certain products, I want overdue order lines to be reserved first based on Order Date
Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):
Our organization processes over 2,000 orders daily, and at times, multiple orders are backordered due to stock unavailability. We have observed that when inventory becomes available, the reservation program does not always prioritize overdue orders. Instead, it seems to allocate stock to newly created orders first.
Could you confirm whether the reservation process follows a FIFO (First In, First Out) logic based on the order date? If not, what configurations or best practices can be implemented to ensure that overdue orders are prioritized for reservation? Given that we operate in a logistics-driven business, where delivery dates are critical, this behavior is impacting our fulfillment process.
