Receiving PayrollID error even after adding condition to restrict it

Summary: Similar to a question asked on this portal -

'Why do we receive errors when changing assignment because of Assigned Payroll Autocomplete rule.'

We have received PayrollID errors with our code. I have uploaded the code on this question and after adding the condition " Assigned Payroll is not null " we are not receiving the error anymore but the Payroll also doesnt get defaulted. Please help.
