How is Salary Quartile calculated in compensation module

Hi All,

May knnow if there is any oracle document that explains how salary quartile is calculated within the application and what is the right page (navigation) to check this data for any employee.

When i was setting up a comp plan i saw values like "Upper Range" "Lower Range" where i was expecting values like 1, 2, 3, 4.

I would also like to know if these values are calculated based on grade range or anything else?
