salaried employees on 4.5 work week schedule not paid correctly

Summary:

salaried employees on 4.5 work week schedule that are hired or termed during pay period do not pay correctly.  They pay based on 8 hour days instead of the number of hours in the pay period of their schedule (Monday to Thursday as 9 hours and Friday 4 hours)

For example, an employee termed on Thursday of week 2 during the pay period should pay 76 hours not 72

PTO is being calculated correctly ( If the EE takes Monday, he uses 9 hours of PTO) but if he is termed on Monday he will be paid 8 hours. How to fix it?

PS. PTO time element proration unit is Hour, and Basic salary is a workday.
