End Dating Entity-Cost Center (Departments) in General Ledger

Good Day,

We have forms in ServiceNow (ticketing system) with associated approvals and workflows for receipt and processing of metadata changes in our General Ledger (i.e. Accounts, Cost Centers, Entities). With respect to inactivating (end date) Entity-Cost Center combinations (Departments) in particular, we're seeking a simpler and more effective method of making these changes. Specifically, I'm focusing on when a replacement Entity-Cost Center combination (Department) has been provided.

In many cases there are multiple touchpoints which need handled across multiple modules/pillars(i.e. FIN, SCM, etc.) to successfully turn off a combination without error.
