CX Outlook Add-in - Can Appointments be created within the Add-in similar to Tasks?

On the Outlook add-in configuration page, we can add an option for opening Tasks in CX, but this option does not appear for Appointments. Can this be done? Perhaps this is as designed or we're missing a configuration step somewhere.
